About Us
We are a small family run business based in Ipswich, Suffolk. When I met Martin (My husband) in 2002 we shared the same dream, of building an orphanage…. That is how we got the business ideas. A percentage of the profits we make will go towards building the orphanage in my home town Hassan in south India. Log on to www.merchantsofindia.com for more information...
I was working in Delhi/India at that time, and we put together a business plan to sell my designs on internet… any way it's a long story so I will make it short.
We moved to designing wedding dresses as there was a scope of bespoke designer wedding dresses, because everything looks the same when you go to the bridal shop. We opened our first shop in 2007 in Ipswich, Suffolk. We Call it 'IZZI IZAIAH' you can view some of my designs online www.izziizaiah.co.uk
Last 2 years I had the opportunity through friends to get involved with local schools, and this made me realize that textile teachers' struggle without right training and resources to teach to the high standards the AQA, Ed Excel, OCR and other exam boards are demanding through national curriculum.
This is how 'Textile Projects' came into existence. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working with students, in the beginning it was just for fun that we made videos etc…. but when the local TV showed interest, and many local schools contacted after watching the TV news… we realized the potential of this business.
So from then on last 6 months I have been working day and night to get the products and my workshop in India to get ready to offer our services available on this website….I am very excited about the video online resources we are offering as this gives you the flexibility to help students with different projects in the same class.
I would like to add as many small projects possible, so I need your help as to what can we add so that you can start using videos to teach year8 onwards.
I would like to know your thoughts and views, how we can improve our service, what we can add? Project ideas? How we can make it easier for you teachers to use etc… would be most welcome. Even if you wish to moan about something J its ok…. Drop me an e-mail.
Look forward to hear from you
