How often do you update the videos? Videos are updated throughout the year. Do we pay only once, is it really free to use after? Yes due to sposorship aaliable we are able to offer you these videos for teaching purposes with one off registration fees. You can view all standard videos any time you like. Can I buy the videos on DVD? It will be one time expense? Our videos are not available on DVD simply because fashion changes every day, the reason the videos are web based is because we can update the current trends and fashion every day. How relevant are these videos with the examination board specifications? These videos are produced in accordance with the specifications from Ed Excel, OCR & AQA. The different techniques that are shown on our site are used in many different areas of textiles like fashion, mass production, interiors, soft furnishings, playthings etc. The videos are not just limited to fashion and dress making alone. Some of the videos are not complete, for example the pintuck and fold back technique, you have shown only on one panel, and in the end you show a finished bodice? How can I complete the project? We show you how to learn the techniques and how to implement the techniques into a finished article, we give you the tools to create and the students have to use there imagination and creativity to use it to the best of their design. For example pintuck and pull back technique, can be used on a bodice, a pocket, skirt, trousers, bags, curtain, blinds, cushions, play mats and so on.... How many students can access the videos at one time? As many students can access the videos from your school computer, there is no limit on how many users. I am looking for a particular technique to finish my project, I cant find anything similar in your website? If you cant find what you are looking for, please e-mail us the details, we will assure you that we will make sure this will be filmed and updated on our website soon as possible. Can I access videos from Home? Yes the videos can be accessed from school as well as from home. How can students access videos from home? Please send us the list of students and the e-mail addresses we will create student login with individual passwords free of charge every year. What are premium videos? Premium videos are those which are under production, this gives you an idea of whats new in the coming months. Once they are ready you will be able to use them like normal standard videos. FAQ - TEXTILE WORKSHOPS Where will the course be held? The venue details should be mentioned on the e-mail that was sent to you confirming the booking space. If its mentioned as TBC (to be confirmed), the details will be e-mailed to you 2 weeks before the course. Who will be tutoring the course? Every course on our website will be lead by our Designer Seema Izaiah herself. Is there a dress code? Generally, we hold our courses in a hotel, a smart casual wear is ideal; also our courses are very informal so feel free to wear something comfortable as you will be doing a lot of practical work. What are the timings of your course? Generally the course starts at 9am and will go on till 5pm, there will be lunch and tea breaks trough out the day. Teachers usually stay on longer for question time to gain more knowledge. Why have I not received any information about my course? We send out confirmed information about your course 14 days before. If it is 10 days or less to the date of the course and you have still not received any information, please as soon as possible. How many people will be on the course? We believe in smaller groups and individual attention to each candidate. There will be a minimum of 6 or a maximum of 10 participants per course. I have booked via your website, is my booking confirmed? You will receive an e-mail confirming that you booking form received, you will receive a second e-mail within 24 hours confirming the booking space. If you have not received please contact us soon as possible. How can I cancel a course? Simply e-mail us that you wish to cancel the course you have pre booked. Depending on how many days before you cancel some fees may apply. If you cancel % of fee refundable 8 weeks before course day 100% 6 weeks before course day 75% 4 weeks before course day 50% 3 weeks before course day 0% Yes of course. Please e-mail us the details of the person who is attending the course in your place, also ask your colleague/friend to bring a copy of your booking confirmation email for reference. How should I pay for my course? The school/yourself will be invoiced 8 weeks before the course due date. You can select your preferred method of payment when you fill in the booking form. Is parking available at the venue? Most venues except in London has parking available, the details will be mentioned in the confirmation you will receive 2 weeks before the event. Do I need to bring my sewing machine? It is advisable to bring your own sewing machine if possible, though not necessary. We provide 5 sewing machines which needs to be shared by 2 candidates. Do you have different course content other than what is mentioned on your website? We will have different course designed to different skill levels, which will be available from Sep – 2010, subscribe for our monthly newsletter and we shall keep you updated.
