More about my journey...

Hi There

If you have come to this page then obviously you are intrigued...and I am sure like those Dragons in the Den you want to know what my background is? Who is behind this business? OK I start from the beginning! Thank God I am not standing in front of 5 dragons J

My name is Seema Izaiah and I was born under a sewing machine..... ha ha   ( not literally ) I was born in a fashion home, most of my learning came from watching my mother at work, I watched and learnt while she instructed her staff to produce quality clothing.

I married a Brit and came into UK 5 years ago and this is where my journey began. I started off as a designer with my own high street boutique IZZI IZAIAH, offering wedding and prom wear.... www.izziizaiah.co.uk

Though it was very exciting to see my brand in retail, it was not easy to design, manufacture and retail a product, I also made lots of stupid mistakes and learnt from it quickly. I am very creative but not sure if I am that talented a designer? I would like to think so.... J ha ha

I guess somewhere along the way the designing interest took a back seat and the entrepreneur in me took over. This is where TEXTILE PROJECTS came into existence. TP was just a fun idea in the beginning and I did not expect much out of it. Since I loved using the video camera it sort of became my new hobby so I was happy if I got the money back for the time spent on this website.

I was in for a pleasant surprise when teachers signed up for the courses I offered and they were full every time. After meeting many textile teachers I realised the potential of this website and the popularity of the educational videos.

I have been in your shoes in terms of pulling my hair thinking how do I get more business? How can I get more customers through the door? I also spent a lot of money on so called 'good advertising' from ad words, banners, print ads, pay per click to face book... but I did not see promised returns on my marketing investment.

Because there are so many crap offers out there I always put myself in the customers' shoes and ask, will I invest in such an opportunity? I go ahead if I can answer an honest YES.

They say proof of the pudding is in the eating, so I tested this concept with a leading sewing machine manufacturer in the UK(Janome). The idea was to promote their brand name JANOME in all our videos and give them a small add at the beginning of each project. Believe me what I quoted for sponsorship was a lot, it was a shot in the dark, when they came with a resounding YES, I knew this business has very good future as well as it provides you the platform to promote your brand.

So I have made this BRAND PROMOTION proposal as simple as possible and as cost effective as possible.

I am sure you have questions and please feel free to call myself or Selina on 01473 213034
