2-days Textile workshop

This course has come about, because of the requests i have had from textile teachers who wanted to learn hands on from start to finish. So what does this 2 day course offer?

Teachers can choose from one of the three choices.

OPTION A - Little black dress-  50's swing dress or  pencil straight dress or  A-line or Fish tail or puff ball.. (Choose anyone) Any style you choose will have a foundation inside, so to give you the maximum exposure into the construction of couture clothing. You will learn boning, construction and finish of the whole garment. Variety of fabrics in black is available to choose from.  Please bring a fitted body mock up to work from.

We will work towards designing and making the dress which you will be proud to show off, but remember the main intention is for you to learn the construction from inside out, so you will take back to your class room, a massive wealth of information on construction. You will smile next time when your student wants to make a 'Prom Dress' as a project....and you will say 'Bring it on'....

OPTION B - Recycle fashion- Bring everything you wish to recycle from your own wardrobe, and from charity shops, and take back at least 6-8 recycle projects to your class room aimed at your students' ability, this finished product can be bags, cushions, totes, wall hangings, tops, skirts etc. ring few pairs of denim, single jersey t-shirts, tops, men's shirts etc. You will also learn simple pattern manipulation from a basic form.

OPTION C - Bubble N Squeak - We named this after the dish, because this gives you the option over 2 days to pick and choose and make what you need for your class room/skill level etc. can be a choice of several techniques, surface decorations, what ever you can learn over 2 days, to upgrade your skills. Please bring details/pictures of any area that you have struggled to get the right finish.

DETAILS OF THE WORKSHOP - We start the day which is common to all, if you have attended our previous workshops you will have experienced the techniques Seema will show you is very current and fun to learn, not to mention shortcuts to a great finish.

After demonstration of a few new techniques, you will individually work towards one of the above options.

If you have attended our first module, (Draping techniques) this course will help you to experiment some of the techniques in real. Don't worry if this is your first course with Textile Projects, you will still be able to complete any project you take on with other simple decoration techniques you will learn during the 2 days ......
