UK Prom Dress Designer 2012 Competition

OVERVIEW
1. Competition opens from 1st Dec 2011 and closing date is 31st January 2012.
2. Any student in year 10 (who will be at year 11 in Dec 2012) can take part.
3. We will select (with a judging panel) 50 designs out of all the entries received which will then go on to the finals at clothes show live to be held in December 2012 at Birmingham.
4. The final 50 will compete against each other to win the UK PROM DRESS DESIGNER 2012 AWARD.
5. Best prom dress designer will be chosen out of the 50 dresses on the final catwalk, who will win a cash prize of £1000 plus a sewing machine and many other sponsored prizes.
COMPETITION GUIDELINES
1. Any student (boy or girl) in year 10 (who will be in year 11 in 2012) can take part. Only one entry per student allowed. As many students in one school can take part. (UK public and private high schools only - FREE ENTRY)
2. Please send 4 page detailed sketch along with your contact details to us. (Please use A4 sheets as standard) Sketch details can be sent to us via post, need to reach us before 31st January 2012.
3. The designs can be part of your GCSE final project, if this is allowed by your school/examination board. Students can take ideas from other prom wear in the market, but the design needs to be original and not copied from another designer. The prom design can be short or long ladies wear.

5. After the final deadline a panel of judges will choose final 50 designs to go on a final catwalk, these final 50 designs will have to be made into real dresses.
6. The selected designs can be made by yourself or by your local dressmaker. If you do not have this facility, then we can arrange for your design to be made up for a small fee, in our own professional workshop which manufactures high quality wedding dresses

7. The designs can be modelled by designers themselves or by another student. 8. One winner will be chosen out of final 50, who will be crowned UK PROM DRESS DESIGNER 2012 who will win a cash prize of £1000 plus a sewing machine Memory Craft 5900 QC from JANOME UK and many other sponsored gifts from other companies. 9. The catwalk will be held at CLOTHES SHOW LIVE 2012, NEC BIRMINGHAM, the winner will be chosen by a panel of celebrity judges.
